This past year has been incredible, challenging, blessed, full of love & amazing opportunities and has helped me grow in ways I didn’t know I needed to.
About 16 months after surviving HELLP syndrome, losing my sweet RJ babe and spending countless hours working on healing our hearts and my body we finally got the green light from my very protective team of doctors to start trying for another baby. We were thrilled and terrified all at once. This little babe we had been praying for didn’t come as quickly we hoped and we had some tough decisions to make—Patrick got accepted to a residency in San Antonio for June 2015 but I wasn’t pregnant yet and there were only 2 more months to get pregnant if we wanted it to be here. All the positivity and hope I had worked on creating in my life felt like it was slipping away.
One of the ways I found healing and health on my journey to be ready for another pregnancy was through joining a Beachbody challenge group when the T-25 program came out. It was definitely a turning point for me—I was finally seeing results with weight loss, feeling more comfortable in my own skin and with the positive atmosphere of supportive women I was starting to love my body again even though I felt like it had failed me. This propelled me into a lifestyle change—eating healthy, clean food, exercising each day and being consistent in a way I hadn’t before. In the months to follow I did a lot of changing, growing and learning to even get to the point of feeling ready to face pregnancy again.
Fast forward to finding out we only had 2 more chances to have a baby in Portland—physically I still felt great but emotionally I was drained and needed a boost. I had decided not to go back to my job in school social work because I didn’t want the stress affecting my health {or hopeful pregnancy}. I was enjoying my new job with the city government but I missed supporting folks and seeing them change their lives. I had been sharing my story as an angel mama on social media but felt like I didn’t have anything concrete to offer others—I wasn’t a nutritionist, personal trainer or therapist but I had a passion and knew that I could support other women in feeling confident in their own skin and help them find and stick with a healthy lifestyle. This is when someone approached me about becoming a health and fitness coach with Beachbody—I didn’t know if I would be any good at, I haven’t ever run a business and I felt pretty empty but something kept telling me to jump in and give it a try. So I did!
Fast forward 13 more months and here I am—a new mama with a healthy 3 month old baby boy, a star diamond coach who gets to not only support amazing women who are working on their health and fitness but mentor and lead strong, caring women as they start their own businesses. Life truly is better than I let myself hope for. Because of Beachbody and the part time hours I work, I will get to be home with my baby boy while not only earning an income to help support my family while my husband goes back to school to follow his dreams but fulfill my passion of helping those around me live healthier and happier lives.
I am looking for women who want to join me in this amazing opportunity. My team and I are hosting a 3 day pressure-free, sneak peek into coaching where you can learn more about what a health and fitness coach does and if it’s right for you. I would love to have you come check it out and answer any questions you have!
Comment below, send me an email or fill out my coach application form here if you want to take a peek at what I do—I can’t even explain how grateful I am that I decided to check it out ;)
Woodburn Tulip Festival--what a difference a year can make!
Same hike in Cannon Beach, OR---same beautiful woman! 10 months of healing, self care, clean food, Shakeology and exercise helped me not just lose weight but feel AMAZING!
I ran away from the grief and pain of reality to NYC for a girls weekend twice after RJ died. The picture on the left was a few weeks before I started T25 and the one on the right is about 8 months later. Let's talk about how different my body felt on those two trips---the first trip my poor feet and legs could barely keep up with all the walking and I was often out of breath and dying to take a cab. The second trip I had so much more energy and we walked EVERYWHERE--about 22,000 steps each day!!
